Much Ado About Nothing...randomness

Not to much going on in our household today, for the past week I have been crocheting these little squares. I absolutely love how this one came out, don't you?
Well today I am turning 8 of these beauties into the bodice part of a dress for my daughter.
I think they will compliment the dress beautifully. We introduced a new feline into our family a few days ago.
Isn't she gorgeous?! We chose the name Minerva for her and as you can tell our first kitty, KitKat, was very unsure about her, but I think they are starting to like each other. I've caught Kitkat being nice to her and she'll start to play with her and then she sees that I'm watching her and goes back to hissing.

Lazy Saturday

Yesterday I finished these adorably cute flip flops, the green and gray pair I'm going to keep for Cass and give the other two pairs as gifts (everyone I know is having baby boys right now!).
I love how they came out, think they are so very cute, don't you? If you didn't see the post from a few days ago, I got the pattern from Bethany over at Whistle & Ivy. I love this pattern, it's well written, very easy to do, especially if you are a beginner and, for us visual learners, she has a video too! Because I tend to crochet very tight, I had to use a size I (5.50) hook. I used Hobby Lobby's brand of I Love This Cotton.
The colors I used for the green & gray pair are Sage (Lot # 166602) & Pewter (Lot #168104),
the blue and khaki, from the other two pairs, are Stonewash (Lot # 164659) and Taupe (Lot # 167547).

This last week our weather has been extremely bad, thunderstorms every day, raining so much at one time that certain areas are having flash floods. I think we've had sunshine maybe once in this past week. I have decided in order to make it seem a little more cheerful, like spring is actually here I'm going to make my daughter a spring dress. I haven't quite decided what pattern I'm going to use for the bodice, but I do know that I'm using this beautiful butterfly fabric that I found at Wal-Mart and some more of the I Love This Cotton in Mulberry (Lot # 564099).
I think it's going to look beautiful together, wouldn't you agree? I can't wait to get started!

I'm BACK!!!!

I have been a bad blogger as of late, well as of the last two years. I really have no excuse except that life happened. A lot of life! So much life that I haven't been able to sit down and breathe let alone crochet therefore any down time I get, I spend it doing my favorite pastime. It seems like lately I've had a little bit more down time so I want to see if I can add writing down my meanderings to that list.
This past December we added another member to our family and completed it, a sweet baby boy we nick-named Cass.

Despite all the rain we've been having this past week, it is starting to get hot here which means I get to make his cute little feet flip flops. I can't wait to show y'all how they come out so here's a little teaser for y'all.
I got the pattern from Whistle and Ivy, I think I'll be done with them in the next couple days. I love Bethany's patterns, going to use her baby boat shoe pattern to make him some shoes for a wedding we're going to afterwards. I've also been toying with the idea of making some sun hats for the girls.
I have a bunch of things coming up that I want to share with y'all so keep a watchful eye out.
