Randomness

So sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been terribly busy with school, getting my daughters' birthday party together and trying to finish my sisters' crocheted baby blankie, you may remember the pattern from here. I am a little bit further along than this :::
I have 3 more rows to put together then I get to put them ALL together and do edging and I am done! Yayyy! I sure hope her and the baby like it. I'm excited to get this project done, mainly because I want to start another one lol I've been looking around at patterns and I came across The Lazy Hobbyhopper and she made a pattern for a gloriosa daisy square and I LOVE IT! Thinking about using it to make a pillow for S and then for Christmas I can make her a matching blanket.

With all the busy-ness going on I managed to do some major spring cleaning in Ts' and I bedroom (sorry y'all don't get to see that). T and I took the family on a hike on Sunday it was so beautiful out and it was nice to be able to get out of the house and enjoy nature's beauty.

T and S just left to go crabbing, I sure hope they get some beauty's like last year :::

I can't wait til they come home, I can taste that delicious, sweet meat already!

A New Addition to Our Family

I love that we have a big family, but we have decided that we need to add a new addition to our family :) She is so sweet, cute and tiny (not to mention spoiled). Are y'all ready to meet her? Here she is:::

Oh yea and she's very fuzzy, squeaks and her name is Smores lol Had y'all going there huh? We love all of the fuzzy and non-fuzzy members of our family! I can't wait til we have our forever home so that we (ie., me) can add some more. Our eldest is a box turtle named Luna, I've had her for about 10 years now and someone else had her before me so I don't know how old she is:::
We also have a red ear slider named Malfoy and multitudes of fish but they don't like having their photos taken. Next up is Izzy, (Isabella Monroe) she is 3 and a half years old and she is an Old English Bulldog, who thinks she's a lap dog:::
Hopefully I will soon be able to get some photos of the non fuzzy and non animal members of our family up soon.

Flower Salad a.k.a. Orchid and Lilac Blankie

A few months ago my little sister & her husband found out that she was pregnant with their first child, a girl! Awwww!!!! Yayyyy!!!! We have all been very excited about the news, obviously. This gave me another great excuse for looking at adorable things for baby girls (like I need one). My sister, H, found a picture to this blanket that she liked but to her dismay it didn't have a pattern just the picture. So I did a lot of research and ended up having to message one of my favorite crocheters, Claire over at Bobwilson123 to see if she could help me locate a pattern for it. Luckily her fans are just as awesome as she is and found it right away. The blanket is called Orchid and Lilac Blankie Set and it can be found on Crochet Today!s' website. It's such a cute blanket!!! The pattern also has instructions for making a beanie, but since baby is due at the end of May and they live in a very HOT state I am opting not to make it. Plus I made her a bonnet that can be found here, I found that pattern on Ravelry made by the very talented Katherine Heise you can find her website here at Crochetlatte. It's a wonderfully beautiful bonnet and the pattern is easy to follow, there is an error in the pattern however but if you scroll down the comments there is comment by Jessie with the fix (I'm not sure if it is fixed in the pattern yet).
Back to the blanket! I decided to make her blankie multicolored and with a green back. I like how all of the flowers look in the bowl, kinda like a flower salad :)

I do like the white and purple version but I didn't want it to get visibly discolored if new baby had an accident on it (ewwww). Yesterday I started on the green for all the flowers and I am hoping to get that finished in the next couple days, so that I can start on the border. So far I really like how it's turning out, will put up a photograph of it when I am done. Have you made this blanket? Would love to see some photographs of your versions!

The Beginning

Between studying, crocheting and mothering my day usually entails going through my favorite blogs, admiring fellow crafters and drooling over recipes that I want to make. Looking at these meanderings of such creative people made me feel inspired to attempt to begin a blog. I have bookmarked, pinned and shared what I have tried and even more of what I have yet to try on Facebook & Pinterest, uploading photographs of delicious meals and crafts that I have created. And now I am going to share my creativity with you. This is going to be so much fun!
